Arvind Jairam is a patent agent in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. He assists attorneys with patent prosecution and litigation, particularly in the areas of electrical engineering and computer systems (hardware and software).
Mr. Jairam has patent prosecution experience related to circuits, wireless and wired communications, near field communications (NFC), radio frequency identification (RFID), semiconductor devices, electromagnetism, medical devices, optics, mathematical modeling, programming, e-commerce, software, business methods and mechanical devices. He has assisted with litigation of patents in various technology areas, including video encoding, cryptography, networks, GPS navigation, thin film transistors, e-commerce, and home security systems.
Clients benefit from Mr. Jairam’s broad technical background, which includes degrees in electrical and computer engineering, computer science, and mathematics. After receiving his master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering, he worked for seven years at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, a government research and development laboratory focused on developing new technologies to address complex national security issues. From 2001 to 2006, in the Air and Missile Defense Division at Lincoln Lab, he developed radar algorithms to counter ballistic missile threats. From 2006 to 2008, in the Communications Systems Division, he worked on speech recognition and machine translation systems. His work involved collaborating with other engineers and also conveying complex scientific issues clearly and simply to military officers. Mr. Jairam's R&D efforts encompassed algorithm conception, software development, systems engineering, and field testing in various technical areas, including digital signal processing, communications systems, image and speech processing, radar engineering (software and hardware), aerospace engineering and computational linguistics.
In addition to his technical degrees, Mr. Jairam has a master’s degree in business administration and management and understands the business perspectives of clients.
