Corey M. Weideman practices in the area of commercial litigation, representing clients in federal and state trial and appellate courts and in all forms of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Weideman deals with matters involving general contract disputes, non-compete agreements, trade secrets, tortious interference, fraud, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, partnership disputes, business torts and deceptive trade practices. Mr. Weideman also has experience in oil and gas litigation and defending personal injury matters.
Mr. Weideman is a 2006 graduate of South Texas College of Law, where he was a member of the South Texas Law Review. In addition, Mr. Weideman received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas in 2003, where he was named First Team Academic All Big XII Conference and on the Big XII Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Representative Matters
- Obtained a take nothing summary judgment on the eve of trial for a subsidiary of a multinational energy company in a multimillion-dollar personal injury suit related to a maritime accident pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.
- Obtained appellate reversal of motion denying arbitration while serving as lead briefing attorney in complex partnership dispute. See 950 Corbindale, L.P. v. Kotts Capital Holdings Ltd. P'ship, 316 S.W.3d 191 (Tex. App.—Houston [14th Dist.] 2010, no pet.).
- Obtained an order in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, San Antonio Division, dismissing complaint alleging violations of 42 U.S.C. §§ 1983 and 1981 and the Fourteenth Amendment against clients for lack of personal jurisdiction, failure to state a claim and insufficient service of process.
- Represented Fortune 500 company and its employees in breach of employment agreement, tortious interference, conversion and misappropriation of trade secrets action. Successfully defended the company against injunctive relief sought by the plaintiffs.
- Represented major downstream oil and gas company in multiple litigation matters, including breach of fuel supply agreement, breach of guaranty, breach of fiduciary duty, embezzlement and tortious interference suits.
- Obtained summary judgment granting damages, attorneys' fees, and a permanent injunction for a public relations company in a copyright infringement matter.
- Represented independent oil and gas exploration and production companies in state litigation involving royalty owner and working interest owner disputes, including breach of contract, fraudulent inducement, lease termination and breach of Natural Resources Code claims.
- Represented an athletic shoe manufacturer and distributor in trademark litigation pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings.
- Represented global energy company in various state court matters involving personal injury, gross negligence, negligence per se, trespass and nuisance allegations.
- Represented commercial banks in collection and deficiency actions against borrowers and guarantors throughout the state of Texas.
