Gregory M. Luck, P.C. practices in the area of intellectual property litigation and licensing. Mr. Luck represents clients in patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation in various district and appellate courts throughout the U.S. He has represented clients in litigation involving data encryption, data compression, offshore exploration platforms, optical disc drives, drilling modes, industrial lasers, holographic imaging technology, coin discrimination systems, rotating memories, metering pumps and telecommunication systems, among other technical areas. He has handled appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Luck also counsels clients regarding all aspects of domestic and international trademark prosecution and portfolio management, including assisting clients with clearance, registration, protection and enforcement. A registered patent attorney, Mr. Luck is admitted to practice in Texas and California. He is a 1986 cum laude graduate of South Texas College of Law and a graduate of Texas A&M University.

  • Settled a case on behalf of a major Taiwanese manufacturer of circuit board architecture who had been sued by Foxconn Electronics, Inc. for infringement of multiple patents.
  • Initiated a case against major cable and satellite TV providers for infringement of a patent directed to DVR technology. This case resulted in a multimillion-dollar settlement for the client.
  • Litigated a patent covering an auto security system against major auto manufacturers.
  • Obtained a preliminary and permanent injunction on an action brought for trademark infringement.
  • Litigated a case involving the use of patentable drilling fluids.
  • Case for infringement of patent drawn to ePOS terminals.
  • Obtained a preliminary injunction for the use of the mark "PetsMart."
  • Obtained a settlement that the client found favorable on patent covering orthodontic appliances.
  • Litigated a case under the Architectural Works Protection Act for the use of building plans.
  • Litigated a case involving the use of potential skylight and solar tube technology. Case settled.
  • Litigated a case arising under the Architectural Works Protection Act against a major homebuilder.
  • Obtained a settlement that the client found favorable for litigation on a patent for disc discrimination technology.
  • Litigated a case for drilling technology.
  • Case brought for violation of trade secrets and for breach of contract.
  • Case brought for trademark infringement and unfair competition.

  • Defended a major telecommunications company against a multimillion-dollar claim of patent infringement; the asserted patent was held invalid, unenforceable and not infringed.
  • Engaged in a multi-year policing action for infringement of monoxodil patent Upjohn throughout the U.S.
  • Successfully prosecuted patent infringement action involving the in situ replacement of valve bodies in high pressure flow lines.
  • Handled appeals before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
