Leon Yee read Law at Christ's College, Cambridge, on a Cambridge Commonwealth Trust scholarship and graduated with Honours. He started off his career with a leading international law firm, working in their London & Singapore offices before joining Arfat Selvam Alliance LLC.
Mr. Yee is a corporate finance partner. He has been a partner since 2005 and is experienced in advising investment banks, listed and private companies on corporate finance, venture capital, capital markets, takeovers, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and joint ventures. He has also advised banks and project companies on complex financing transactions.
Mr. Yee has also been cited in the 2007 International Financial Law Review 1000, Guide to the World's Leading Financial Law Firms, in which clients were said to be attracted to his "international experience". He was also recommended as a Leading Lawyer. He was also nominated as an "AsiaLaw Leading Lawyer" in the area of Corporate Governance for the last four years. He is also an author of the "Code of Corporate Governance" chapter in Woon's Corporations Law and the Singapore chapter for Getting the Deal Through – Corporate Governance for 2010 and 2011.
Mr. Yee serves as an Independent Director of SGX-listed Federal International (2000) Ltd and an Investment Committee member of the S$90m Char Yong Foundation Fund. In addition, he is the Honorary Legal Adviser to the Char Yong (Dabu) Clan Association.
Mr. Yee sits as the Chair and is also a Council Fellow of Cambridge Alliance Centre. He also founded and chaired the Cambridge University Asian Lawyers Association. Mr. Yee is an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore and a Solicitor of England and Wales.

- Represented the selling shareholders on the US$125-million disposal of an inter-dealer broker to a competitor.
- Represented a Thai-listed oil and gas company on the S$90-million acquisition of palm oil plantations in Indonesia.
- Represented a Singapore REIT on its proposed conversion into the first publicly listed Shariah-compliant real estate investment trust on SGX-ST, as well as on its proposed S$385-million refinancing comprised of a S$185-million conventional facility and a S$200-million Islamic facility using an Ijara structure.
- Represented the target of a S$800-million acquisition by Dubai International Capital.
- Represented a Malaysian stock brokerage on its conversion to an investment bank.
- Represented a Singapore company specializing in radio-frequency identification (RFID), security systems and wireless technologies on its proposed listing on the London AIM.
- Represented DBS with respect to the initial listing of units issued by ABF Singapore Bond Index Fund on the Singapore Stock Exchange, which raised more than S$456 million at the close of its initial public offering.
- Represented DBS on the proposed secondary listing of Singapore Depository Receipts of Varun Shipping Co. Ltd. (a company listed on the Mumbai Stock Exchange) on the Singapore Stock Exchange.
- Represented the holding company of a People's Republic of China consumer-electronics chain on its proposed listing on the London AIM.
- Represented the controlling shareholder of a pre-IPO company in relation to a S$70-million exchangeable loan granted by Standard Chartered Private Equity for his shares.
- Represented Otto Marine Ltd., an offshore marine group engaged in shipbuilding, ship repair and conversion, and ship chartering, on its pre-IPO restructuring as well as its listing on the SGX-ST with a market capitalization of S$602 million.
- Represented a leading provider of cash-access products on the housing of ATMs and other cash access machines within the Integrated Resorts under the Singapore Casino Control Act.
- Represented a private equity house in the acquisition of an Indonesian Internet-gaming operator.
