Michael J. Lyon practices in the area of litigation, including consumer lending litigation. Mr. Lyon is a 2009 cum laude graduate of Villanova University School of Law, where he was Managing Editor of Research and Writing of the Law Review and a member of the Trial Competition Team, and a cum laude graduate of Villanova University.

Representative Matters

• Obtained, on behalf of client financial institution and its trustee, an order dismissing with prejudice a complaint alleging violations of the Truth-in-Lending Act (TILA), the Home Ownership and Equity Protection Act (HOEPA) and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA).
• Assisted in the representation of a shareholder and member of the board of directors of a company in connection with a fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and conspiracy claims arising out of a round of Series C financing for the company. Obtained summary judgment in favor of the client.
• Defended an orthopedic surgeon against claims of medical negligence brought against him by a patient who developed an infection after the client performed emergency ankle surgery. Trial resulted in unanimous jury verdict in favor of client.
