Nancy Roberts practices in the area of government relations and public policy, with a focus on strategic and crisis communications for all legal clients. Ms. Roberts routinely handles high-profile and sensitive matters that require crisis management and media knowledge, and has extensive experience helping clients protect brand reputation and corporate position as they navigate legal issues in this era of heightened public interest and media scrutiny.
Prior to joining Duane Morris, Ms. Roberts ran NRCS, Inc., a public policy, government affairs and strategic communications firm that served a broad cross section of clients--companies and individuals in both the public and private sectors. Among those clients she has represented or for whom she has led initiatives are Coca Cola, Newport News Shipbuilding, DuPont Worldwide, Duke Energy, Harrah's, The National Football League, Major League Baseball, National Association of Manufacturers and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Roberts has worked on many high-profile projects, including bringing the Baltimore Ravens football team to Baltimore, securing public funding for building of an NFL football stadium and funding of the $150 million expansion of the Baltimore Convention Center, and has handled media for a number of national initiatives including representing the first project receiving American Recovery and Reinvestment (Stimulus) Act funds in 2009.
Ms. Roberts is involved in a number of community, civic and charitable organizations and has served on numerous civic and charitable boards, including the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association; the Hippodrome Foundation, of which she is also a founding member; Camden Yards Sports and Entertainment Commission; Maryland Executive Fellows Program; Maryland Film Industry Coalition; Baltimore Neighborhood Resource Bank; Jhpiego, a worldwide maternal and fetal-health organization affiliated with the Johns Hopkins University. She was national chair of the 1989 U.S. National Figure Skating Championships and led the Board of Local Advisors responsible for the 2000 Army-Navy Game played that year in Baltimore.
Ms. Roberts is a graduate, with honors, from Johns Hopkins University and holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law. She has been profiled for professional accomplishments in Ladies Home Journal, Baltimore Magazine, Baltimore Business Journal, The Baltimore Sun, Warfields, and The Daily Record.
