P. Ryan McElduff practices in the areas of litigation and insurance. Mr. McElduff has represented insurers in commercial disputes, including bad faith claims, aviation, marine, energy, commercial liability, construction, professional liability, directors and officers liability, commercial vehicle, pollution and antitrust matters. Mr. McElduff has also defended various liability matters in the transportation, aviation, marine, construction and professional fields. Mr. McElduff was also seconded to a managing agent for members of the Lloyd's of London insurance market for several months earlier in his career.
Mr. McElduff is a 2003 cum laude graduate of Brooklyn Law School and a graduate of Tulane University.

Representative Matters
- Obtained a ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit affirming the summary judgment ruling of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York holding that St. Paul Fire & Marine Insurance Co. had satisfied its obligation under an applicable insurance policy concerning goods damaged by flooding in a warehouse in Des Moines.
- Obtained a decision that a bill of lading term incorporating the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act is enforceable for a loss alleged to have occurred during the inland truck leg of an international intermodal shipment of cargo, resulting in the dismissal of all claims against a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier. Siaci Saint Honore a/s/o LVMH Fragrance Brands v. Ironbound Express, Inc., et al., 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 112496 (S.D.N.Y. August 6, 2012).
- Obtained summary judgment declaring a yacht hull insurance policy void ab initio due to the insured's failure to disclose prior losses. St. Paul Fire and Marine Ins. Co. v. Matrix Posh, LLC, 2012 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 61024 (E.D.N.Y. April 30, 2012).
- Obtained summary judgment for an insurer in an action seeking a declaratory judgment that the accumulation clause in an ocean cargo policy did not increase the $2 million warehouse endorsement location limit of liability for damages sustained to products at the insured's warehouse in excess of the limit. St. Paul Fire & Marine Ins. Co. v. Novus International, Inc. 2011 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 159317 (S.D.N.Y. Dec. 28, 2011).
- Obtained dismissal of all claims brought against foreign freight forwarder due to lack of jurisdiction. Chris Sports North America, Inc. v. M/V APL PERU, Case No. 1:08-cv-09352-AKH (S.D.N.Y. May 2, 2011).
- Obtained summary judgment for a marine excess insurer in an action seeking a declaratory judgment that a policy choice of law clause was enforceable and insured's late notice of claim precluded coverage. St. Paul Fire and Marine Ins. Co. v. Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans, 646 F.Supp. 2d 813 (E.D.La. 2009).
- Recovered $1.4 million of cargo improperly received by consignee. Danmar Lines, Ltd. v. Peticure, LLC, 2009 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 60700 (N.D.Tex. July 19, 2009).
- Obtained summary judgment for a building owner on claims against contractor for indemnity and additional insured coverage. Doucoure v. Atlantic Development Group, LLC, 18 A.D.3d 337 (N.Y. App. Div. 1st Dep't. 2005).
- Obtained summary judgment dismissing all construction accident claims by building owner against subcontractor. Costa v. Piermont Plaza Realty, Inc., 10 A.D.3d 442 (N.Y. App. Div. 2d Dep't. 2004).
