Richard J. Snyder has a broad background in the areas of business law, lending, real estate and international law. He serves as legal counsel and advisor to business entities of all sizes, including for-profit and not-for-profit institutions and domestic and foreign corporations. Much of his practice involves developing business and legal initiatives and supervising complex transactions in which large legal teams represent each party.
Mr. Snyder represents banks of all sizes in a wide variety of secured and unsecured commercial lending transactions.
Mr. Snyder represents high net worth individuals, including their foundations and family offices. Consequently, he is experienced in the construction, purchase and financing of aircraft, yachts and residential complexes worldwide as well as the transfer of assets and business activities between multinational jurisdictions.
Mr. Snyder served as a White House summer intern and was a trial lawyer with the Department of Justice before entering private practice in 1966. He continues to be active in civic and charitable endeavors, serving in state and municipal positions as well as chairing college and civic boards and committees.
A member of the American, Massachusetts, Vermont and Boston bar associations, he is or has been listed in Who's Who in the East (First Listed 1986), Who's Who in America (First Listed 1986), Who's Who in the World (First Listed 1987), Who's Who in American Law (First Listed 3rd Edition) and Who's Who in Finance and Industry (First Listed 1989). In 2004, he was first listed as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer.
Mr. Snyder is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Vermont. He is a 1966 graduate of Georgetown University (LL.M.), a 1963 honors graduate of Boston University School of Law and an honors graduate of Babson College where he majored in accounting.

- Closed on behalf of Rockland Trust construction, bridge and term loans totaling $24 million to a chain of nursing homes in central Massachusetts and related facilities for the purpose of expanding their capacity.
