William J. Green focuses his practice on corporate transactional and regulatory law, assisting public and emerging companies, private equity and venture funds, and entrepreneurs in all aspects of their businesses. He has acted as lead counsel in mergers and acquisitions, tender offers, venture capital and private equity transactions, private and public securities offerings and compliance. Mr. Green has represented clients in corporate governance, joint ventures, outsourcing and cross-border negotiations, as well as in intellectual property and litigation matters. He has founded several businesses and was president of Atlanta-based VistaScape Security Systems. In addition, Mr. Green has served in an in-house counsel role at several companies. He is familiar with the intricacies of financial markets, including hedge funds and derivatives, having begun his career as an options and futures trader in New York, London and Amsterdam.

In 2007, Mr. Green was elected to one of seven at-large seats in the 17-member Philadelphia City Council, with the greatest total vote count of any council member. In office, he has focused his attention on accountability and fiscal discipline. Mr. Green is chairman of the Committee on Labor and Civil Service and vice-chairman of the Committee on Technology and Information Services. He is also a member of the City of Philadelphia's Criminal Justice Advisory Board and the Private Sector Outreach Board. In 2008, Philadelphia magazine named Green one of two "Best New City Council Members," as part of its annual "Best of Philadelphia" listings. He was re-elected in 2011.

Mr. Green is a 1995 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a summa cum laude graduate of Auburn University.
