Duane Morris Partner Appointed Chair of the Professional Guidance Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association
Duane Morris is pleased to announce that Sarah M. Bricknell, partner and Assistant General Counsel, has been appointed Chair of the Professional Guidance Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association.
In this two-year appointment, Ms. Bricknell will lead the Philadelphia Bar Association's Professional Guidance Committee in advising on the propriety of any action proposed to be taken by bar members in a professional matter or transaction, or the course to be pursued in any controversy with another member of the bar or with a client. The Professional Guidance Committee also has authority to give advice concerning the interpretation, application and observance of the Code of Professional Responsibility and the Canons of Judicial Ethics.
Ms. Bricknell follows former Duane Morris General Counsel and current U.S. District Court judge Gene Pratter, and some of the city's most prominent ethics experts, in holding this prestigious post.
At Duane Morris, Ms. Bricknell addresses risk management and professional conduct matters as Assistant General Counsel and practices in the areas of professional and business ethics and professional liability litigation as a partner. Ms. Bricknell is also a member of Duane Morris' Recruitment and Retention Committee.
Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and California, Ms. Bricknell is a member of the Section of Litigation of the American Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Commission on Women in the Profession. Ms. Bricknell also regularly presents programs to practitioners on legal ethics issues.
A graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, Ms. Bricknell earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
