Duane Morris Chief Information Officer Named "IT Director of the Year" by Law Technology News
PHILADELPHIA, December 20, 2007 — Duane Morris is pleased to announce that Chief Information Officer John Sroka has been named "IT Director of the Year" by Law Technology News' 5th Annual Law Technology News Awards. John will be presented the award during the LTN Technology Awards Dinner at the New York Hilton on February 5, 2008.
The "Law Firms" category of awards is decided by a panel of legal technology experts. Their decision is based on the application that an individual or a law firm submits to Law Technology News. The application consists of three questions geared to reveal the exact nature of the candidate's work and its benefits both to the candidate's firm and to the legal profession as a whole.
John's achievements in the firm include centralization and standardization of all technology resources, the building of a State Of The Art Lights Out Data Center and NOC, implementation of an IP Docketing and Workflow system with integration to billing, document management and CRM applications. He was responsible for and directed advancements in the firm's data security and the transition to the VoIP system now used firmwide.
John manages and leads the firm's Information Services Department from the Philadelphia office, which is responsible for practice support, web development, help desk, training, telecommunications and network services. John has 30 years of experience in information technology services for law firms and other professional service organizations. In the past two decades, he has directed technology services in four major law firms. He was formerly president, treasurer and Systems Technology Committee chair of the Association of Legal Administrators: Philadelphia Chapter.
