Duane Morris Partner Appointed U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York

NEW YORK, April 9, 2008 - Duane Morris LLP is pleased to announce that Robert E. Grossman, a partner in the Corporate and Business Reorganization and Financial Restructuring practice groups in the firm's New York office, has been appointed a judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York. He will be sworn in on April 18 and his chambers will be in the D'Amato Federal Courthouse in Central Islip, N.Y.

Grossman's appointment marks the sixth time in recent years that a current or former Duane Morris partner has been named a federal judge. Former Duane Morris partner James Peck serves as a judge in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Former Philadelphia partners Gene E.K. Pratter and Michael Baylson are judges with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Marjorie Rendell serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. On November 15, 2007, Judge Pratter was nominated for a seat on the Third Circuit and is awaiting confirmation by the U.S. Senate. Former Atlanta partner Neil Olack serves as a judge in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.

At Duane Morris, Grossman practiced in the area of corporate law, business reorganization and litigation. A significant part of his practice focused on providing advice to troubled or newly restructured companies, and investors, with respect to the financing needs of such companies. He began his legal career as a government lawyer at the Securities & Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. Before joining Duane Morris, Grossman was chair of the restructuring practice group at Arent Fox. A graduate of Rider University, he earned his J.D. in 1973 from Brooklyn Law School.

"Bob has been a superb lawyer, and a great leader in our New York office," said John J. Soroko, Duane Morris Chairman. "We know he will be an outstanding addition to the federal judiciary."
